A constitutionally independent body established to ensure every MFAAA election is free, fair, transparent, and accountable to every member.
What the AEC is constitutionally bound to do
Operational Independence
The AEC operates free from interference by the MFAAA executive board, any candidate, or any external party. No officer may direct or obstruct AEC decisions. Members serve the electorate, not the leadership.
Free and Fair Elections
The AEC sets election timelines, opens and closes voter registration, reviews candidacy applications, administers the secret-ballot voting process, and publishes results. Every step is documented and auditable.
Accountability to Members
All election results are published publicly after each cycle. Voter rolls, tallies, and candidacy decisions are kept on record. Members have the right to raise concerns to the AEC during any open period.

David Kahara
Leads the Alumni Elections Committee with conviction and rigour, chairing all proceedings and serving as the constitutional guarantor of free, fair, and independent elections for every MFAAA member. David anchors the committee's independence and ensures every decision reflects the mandate the Association has placed in the AEC.

John Wafula
The organisational backbone of the AEC. Joshua keeps precise minutes of every sitting, maintains the official electoral roll, and ensures the committee's correspondence with members is always timely, clear, and accurate. An election is only as credible as its record-keeping, and that record rests in Joshua's hands.

John Ekiru
Conceived, designed, and built the MFAAA Web Plartform - the Association's first fully digital elections platform. John serves as the AEC's technical lead, responsible for the integrity, security, and reliability of every digital process from voter registration to ballot tallying. His work ensures the platform is a tool the membership can trust.
- Designed and built the MFAAA Elections Portal from the ground up
- Architected the digital candidacy system, secret-ballot voting engine, and election audit layer
- Deployed and maintains the secure, production-grade infrastructure supporting the platform
- Integrated real-time fraud detection to protect the integrity of every ballot cast
Evans Nyasimi
Keeps the AEC's technical operations running smoothly throughout every phase of the election cycle. Evans supports platform continuity, assists members through technical processes, and works alongside the IT Lead to ensure no member faces a barrier when participating in their Association's elections.

Manasseh Muchiri
Gives the AEC a voice the membership can hear and trust. Manasseh crafts and distributes all official AEC announcements, manages public messaging around election timelines, and ensures every member — regardless of how they follow Association news — is informed, included, and engaged throughout the process.

Who Does What
Leads the AEC, chairs all proceedings, signs off on election results, and is the constitutional guarantor of free and fair elections. Cannot be directed by any executive officer.
Keeps minutes of all AEC meetings, maintains the official electoral roll, drafts member communications, and ensures all documentation is filed and preserved.
Administers the elections platform, manages technical election integrity, oversees voter secrets and ballot security, and maintains the full digital infrastructure of the process.
Manages the Association's social media during elections: announcements, results broadcasts, and member engagement with the electoral process.
Produces all visual materials for the election cycle in line with MFAAA brand guidelines.
Drafts and distributes all official AEC communications: election notices, voter registration reminders, and post-election announcements.

Constitution Ratified - 2021
The AEC Constitution was ratified in 2021, establishing the committee as a body fully independent of the MFAAA executive board under §2.
Current Committee - Since August 2024
The current AEC was constituted and has since been planning, coordinating, and overseeing the Association's digital election processes.
MFAAA Elections Portal - Launched 2026
The first fully digital elections system for the Association — designed and built by the AEC's IT Lead and launched in July 2026 to give every member a secure, accessible way to participate.
Inaugural Digital Election Cycle
The current AEC is overseeing the Association's first election conducted entirely on the MFAAA platform — with full digital voter registration, candidacy review, secret-ballot voting, and published results.
